This is a page designed to help you find out more about the wonderful Aloe Genus,which is considered by some to be the Biblical Tree of Life. It is found throughoutEastern Africa from Egypt, where it has been cultivated since the Pharoahs, through the Olduvai Gorge, where our most ancient ancestors were found,all the way to the Cape of Hope in South Africa, actually hanging off the cliffs!The few remaining large Tree Aloes are found mostly in Namibia in S.W. Africa.Portuguese sailors brought back some to Europe in the 1400's. A large Tree Aloeis depicted next to Adam and Eve along with African animals in H. Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights. Aloes are now found throughout the Mediterranian, Carribean, Mexico, Texas and S. California etc.
